Course Description:
M.Sc. in Information Technology is a three semester (18 months) part-time degree programme consisting of a common Information core, and a compulsory research project. In order to obtain the MSc in Information Technology your are required to gain 48 credits. One credit is equivalent to one hour of lectures or other classroom activity per week for one semester of approximately 14 weeks duration, or two hours of practical or project work per week for one semester of approximately 14 weeks duration
Eligibility Requirements:
Candidates applying for the MSc in Information Technology shall have:
A recognized degree in a relevant field accepted by the Faculty and approved by the Senate
OR
The Associate Membership, Graduateship (as appropriate) or equivalent of a recognized professional institute in a relevant field
WITH
minimum of two years of appropriate experience after obtaining such membership accepted to the Faculty and approved by the Senate.
Course Structure:
The Post Graduate Diploma is of 12 months (part time) duration while MSc is of 18 months duration (part time). Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology and MSc in Information Technology offer common curricula. Lecturers will be held during weekends. Those who satisfy this criterion at the end of the first year would be able to select one of the following two options:
(a) Continue for the MSc in Information Technology
(b) Exit the programme with a Post Graduate Diploma
Those who continue to follow MSc in Information Technology will need to follow a Research Project of 06 months duration.
