Introduction
Application will be issued from 21.06.2010 to register candidates fro the Master of Arts (M.A.) Degree Course(One Year) andMaster of Social Sciences (MSSC)Course(Two Years Research) under the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Kalaniya.Duly completed applications will be received up to 05.07.2010.The courses are schedule to commence in the month of august 2010.

The Subjects
Applications will only be invited for the cources in respect of Economics,Social Science ,Mass Communication,Political Science, Geography , Library and Information Science,History,Archaeology and Philosophy.

Qualification
Master of Arts (M.A.) Degree Course(One Year) 
A Bachelor of Arts (Special or General) Degree with the relevant subjects obtained from a recognized University or equivalent academic or Professional Qualifications accepted by the senate.
Master of Social Sciences (MSSC)Course(Two Years Research)
A Bachelor of Arts (Special or General) Degree with the relevant subjects obtained from a recognized University or equivalent academic or Professional Qualifications accepted by the senate.

For Library and Information Science,a Degree (Special or General) from a recognized University and one years staff level experience in a recognized Library or a Degree (Special or General) from a recognized University and the Advanced Certificate Course in Library and Information Science of the University of Kalaniya or the final examination of Library Association of Sri Lanka.

Method of Selection
Selections will be made through an interview and candidate having highest qualification will be accorded priority.

Cource Fees 
For the Master of Arts (M.A.) Degree Course(One Year)                          Rs.55,000
For the Master of Social Sciences (MSSC)Course(Two Years Research    Rs.65,000

Course Application
The Course Application could be obtained from the Assistant Registrar/Faculty of Postgraduate Studies on submission of the receipt for the  payment of Rs. 250.00 to the collection account No. 055-1001-10667549
of the People's Bank,Kalaniya.
when requesting application by post the caption "To obtain Applications for Master of Arts/ Master of Social Sciences Courses of the Faculty of Social Science " should be marked on the top left corner of the relevant envelope.The receipt for the payment of Rs 250.00 to the collection Account No  055-1001-10667549 of the People's Bank,Kalaniya and a self addressed 9" * 4" envelope affixed with stamps worth Rs. 5.00 should be sent to the

Duly Completed application should be sent by registered Post to receive on or Before 05/07/2010
