Master of Public Management - MPM 2010-2012

This unique MPM programme enriches its study fellows to achieve a Masters Degree and also to be equipped with skills to function with confidence at different managerial levels.
In developing managerial competencies the programme provides an opportunity for study fellows to acquire a broad knowledge and skills which will refine and strengthen their potentials for a wider global reach in the context of:
- nature and scope of different managerial functions
- comparative Management imperatives
- use of analytical skills in decision making and strategy formulation in management
- structure of the bureaucracy and the role of proactive management in changing public interests
- public policy process and the behaviour of interest groups

Course Duration
24 months(Weekends Saturdays only)
24 months(Weekends Thursdays only)
Admission Requirements
Confirmed Officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service or a parallel All Island Service
OR
Confirmed Officer in a managerial position of a closed department whose position is acceptable to the academic Affairs Board(AAB) of SPS
OR
Commissioned/Gazetted Officer in the Armed Services and Police
OR
Bachelor's Degree with a First or Second Class from a recognized University with minimum of one year work experience in a managerial position
OR
Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University with minimum of three years work experience in a managerial position
OR
Professional qualification equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of three years work experience in a managerial position accepatable to the Academic Affairs Board(AAB) of SPS
OR
A Diploma from a recognized Institute with seven years of post-qualification work experience in a managerial position accepatable to the Academic Affairs Board(AAB) of SPS
AND
A good Command of English Language
How to Apply
The application from along with the programme prospectus is obtained from the SPS on a non-refundable payment of Rs. 1000/=.The application can also be downloaded from the SLIDA website www.slida.lk and the non-refundable Rs. 1000/= could be made when handling over the appliation to the SPS.The Completed application should be submitted to the SPS on or Before 15 September 2010
