MSc in CS
The MSc in CS degree programme is designed to provide practicing professionals with a greater depth of technical knowledge and provide additional exposure to niche areas. The specializations within the MSc in CS program allows for prospective graduate students to follow a program that most suit their interests and career aspirations. Many graduates undertake MSc studies to advance quickly in their chosen career or to pursue a research-oriented career leading to higher degrees.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates applying for the MSc in Computer Science or PG Diploma in Computer Science shall have A degree in Computing, Information Technology or Information Systems
OR
A degree in Engineering
OR
A degree with Computer Science, IT or IS as a subject (approx 1/3 of the course)
OR
Any other degree with at least two years' relevant experience
OR
A professional qualification in Computer Science, IT or IS with at least two years relevant (not necessarily post-qualifying) experience
AND
A minimum mark at the screening test conducted by the Dept. of CSE.

Lectures
Saturday - University of Moratuwa, Katubedda from 08:00AM to 06:00PM
3 days of the week - Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), Wellawatta from 05:30PM to 08:30PM
All presentations, viva, examinations, etc are held at the University of Moratuwa on Saturdays.
Payment Structure
Tuition Fee - For MSc Program Full Payment RS.300,000.00
OR
For MSc Program 1st installment
(by 1st December 2010) RS.150,000.00
For MSc Program 2nd installment
(by 1st August 2011) RS.100,000.00
For MSc Program 3rd installment
(by 1st March 2012) RS.50,000.00
Please note that above fees include Annual Academic Registration Fees, Semester Examination Fees and and a Library Deposit of 2,500.00.
Selection Criteria
The selection is conducted in two phases.
The first phase consists of an online selection test of 1 hour duration. Candidates who are successful in the first phase continue to the second phase.
The second phase consists of an interview of 5-10 minute duration by an interview panel of not less than 3 persons.
The online selection test will consist of multiple-choice, short-answer and similar questions may include questions from following areas:
