Eligibility Requirements
Candidates applying for the MBA in Information Technology or PG Diploma in Business Management and Information Technology shall have the following eligibility requirements

    The degree of Bachelor of Science of Engineering of the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
                            OR
    Any other recognized degree in a relevant field accepted by the Faculty and approval by the Senate. 
                            OR
    The Associate Membership, Graduate ship (as appropriate) or equivalent of a recognized professional institute in a relevant field WITH a minimum of one year of appropriate experience after obtaining such membership acceptable to the Faculty and approval by the Senate. 
                            AND
    At least 2 years of relevant experience after having obtained the qualifications mentioned in (i), (ii) or (iii) above.

    Those who do not have their first degree in Information Technology related field, must show that they have sufficient experience in IT related work.

Performance Criteria and Academic Regulations

        *  Title of Award: Master of Business Administration
        *  Participation in the Academic Programme:

          At least 80% attendance is normally required in lectures, tutorials and other group based activities to be eligible to sit for examinations. Also participation is compulsory in all prescribed seminars and assignments, such as: tutorials, term papers, case studies, project activities.

         * Pass in the MBA:
          A candidate is deemed to have passed the MBA he/she has successfully completed the evaluation requirements in each of the components of the MBA degree programme content as given below:
          (a) The written examinations in all the course modules; and
          (b) The seminars; and
          (c) Assignments, term papers and other project based activities
          (d) The final project , or the Portfolio of smaller projects, where appropriate.
          AND
          (e) Collected a at least 64 credits  offered according to the curriculum approved by the Faculty and the Senate, out of which at least 40 credits are obtained from project- based activities

Selection Criteria

The selection is conducted in two phases.

The first phase consists of an online selection test of 1 hour duration and an essay writing task of 30 minute duration to evaluate professional writing skills. Candidates who are successful in the first phase continue to the second phase.

The second phase consists of an interview of 5-10 minute duration by an interview panel of not less than 3 persons and a stand-up presentation to the interview panel on a topic given by the panel of 2 minutes duration.

The online selection test will consist of multiple-choice, short-answer and similar questions may include questions from following areas:

    * Current Affairs
    * General Knowledge
    * IQ
    * English Language
    * Mathematical Proficiency
