MASTER OF SCIENCE / POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT

This course is designed to present a stimulating programme of study allowing the successful graduate to gain extensive knowledge in Project Management, while adopting a broad generic approach. The Course is conducted by a team of highly experienced senior lecturers.
Eligibility requirements:
A person is eligible to follow this course if they have any one of the following;
(a) The Honours degree of Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying, University of Moratuwa AND a minimum of one year experience after obtaining the degree,
OR
(b) The Honours degree of Bachelor of Science in Facilities Management, University of Moratuwa AND a minimum of one year experience after obtaining the degree,
OR
(c) The Honours degree of Bachelor of Architecture, University of Moratuwa AND a minimum of one year relevant experience after obtaining the degree,
OR
(d) The degree of Bachelor of Built Environment, University of Moratuwa AND a minimum of two years relevant experience after obtaining the degree,
OR
(e) The Honours degree of Bachelor of Science in Town and Country Planning, University of Moratuwa AND a minimum of one year relevant experience after obtaining the
degree,
OR
(f) The Honours degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering, University of Moratuwa AND a minimum of one year experience after obtaining the degree,
OR
(g) Any other four years honours degree from a recognized university with a minimum of one year relevant experience after obtaining the degree. The degree shall be recognized by the faculty and approved by the senate.
OR
(h) Any other three years degree from a recognized university with a minimum of two years relevant experience after obtaining the degree. The degree shall be recognized by the faculty and approved by the senate.
OR
(i) A voting membership of a recognized professional institution in a relevant field AND a minimum of two years experience after obtaining membership. The acceptability of the professional qualification of the candidate, the recognition of the institution and the relevancy of the field for this purpose shall be judged by the Faculty and approved by the Senate.
Application:
Application forms and other relevant information may be collected by sending a self addressed stamped envelope of 100 x 225 mm in size to Mr. Indunil Seneviratne, Course Coordinator, Department of Building Economics, University of Moratuwa, Moratuwa.

Collecting the application form from the Department of Building Economics, University of Moratuwa, Moratuwa during working hours, Tuesday to Saturday from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. upto 30th July,2011.

Application Closing Date:
All duly filled applications, along with a paying-in-voucher for Rs. 500/- drawn in favour of University of Moratuwa Account No. 70993353 obtained from Bank of Ceylon as application processing fee shall reach the Department of Building Economics, Faculty of Architecture, University of Moratuwa
by 04 th August,2011.
Medium of Study:
Medium of study will be in English.
Course Content:
Project Development, Appraisal and Marketing; Principles of Management and Organizational Behaviour; Managerial Economics; Management Accounting and Finance; Development Law; Quantitative Analysis and Information Technology; Research Thesis; Project Work and Set Papers.
Course Fees:
The Course fee for the first year is Rs. 80,000/= and Rs. 40,000/= for the second year. The registration fee for the first year is Rs. 1,000/= and Rs. 500/= for the second year. In addition a refundable deposit of Rs. 2,500/= (for library facilities) and an examination fee of Rs. 500/= is payable at the registration.
